Flute performer and teacher Paige Brown Fremder has performed symphonic and solo repertoire in North America and Europe. She joined The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own" as a piccolo player in the ceremonial band in 2016. After advanced studies in England in 2013-14 with one of the world’s most respected master teachers of the flute, Trevor Wye, Paige is excited to share her unique personal take on all things having to do with the flute! While in England, Paige’s intense love of the flute was focused on the art of practicing, flute making and maintenance, orchestral and solo repertoire, and pedagogy.
Most recently, Paige played flute and piccolo with the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and flute with the Ars Nova Chamber Orchestra. Since moving to the DC metroplex, Paige has also performed with the Arlington Philharmonic, WindWorks of Washington, the Evanston Philharmonic, and often records at Omega Studios. While finishing her Undergraduate and Master’s degrees in flute performance at Baylor University in Texas, she performed with the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, Baylor Wind Ensemble, Waco Symphony Orchestra, as well as multiple chamber ensembles.
Aside from her extensive work with Trevor Wye, her main teachers and pedagogical influences include Dr. Francesca Arnone, Helen Ann Shanley, and Dr. Sydney Carlson. Paige has performed and worked in master classes with renowned flutists Jim Walker, Marina Piccinini, Amy Porter, Jeanne Baxtresser, Walfrid Kujala, and Christina Jennings.
