The United States Army Band, "Pershing's Own"

Lots of exciting happenings around these parts!

-Drew and I bought and moved into our first home, a cute little fixer upper in Burke, at the end of April. My parents were so great to come and help us paint for a week, and we've been tearing down walls and making huge messes ever since. Next up: kitchen demo and remodel!

-The Fremder Flute Studio has finished out a successful school year, with many students recieving top marks at their annual solo and ensemble contest! Great job everyone. Summer lessons will not be taking place this year for good reason, but we will start back up later in September. Have a great summer everyone!

-I am SO pleased to announce that I won a piccolo audition with The United States Army Band, "Pershing's Own" at the end of May! I will be joining the ceremonial band as soon as I graduate from basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood in September. I ship out on June 28, so keep me in your thoughts and prayers!

Winning a position with Pershing's Own has been "the dream" since Drew started his job with the band back in 2013. To work along side my husband, our friends, and all the other outstanding musicians and soldiers in TUSAB is an honor and a priviledge. I'm thankful for the opportunity to serve my country while doing what I love.

  • Summer lessons

We are well into April, and the end of the 2014-2015 school year will be here before we know it!

Most students find themselves struggling to feel at home with their instrument at the beginning of the school year. Playing the flute involves so many different muscles that we aren't necessarily accostomed to using, that they require upkeep (practicing!!!) to prevent loss of progress over the summer.

Summer lessons are a wonderful idea for students who not only want to prevent backtracking, but for those who aspire to start the school year feeling confident in the hard work that they have put in. Band programs and musicians alike are highly competitive! A good way to make quick progress and jump ahead of the pack is to maintain your flute studies during the summer.

  • Welcome!

Welcome to the brand new Fremder Flute Studio website!

Currently, I am teaching flute sectionals through Fairfax County Public Schools at Langley High School, Kilmer Middle School, and Robert Frost Middle School. I have a private studio in the area. I teach lessons on Mondays at Chantilly High School and on Wednesdays after school at Frost. On the remaining week days I teach out of my home in Burke. Feel free to send an email if you have any questions!

I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me this far in my career- my family, my flute teachers, my past band directors, my Baylor professors- I wouldn't be where I am today without you!

    -Paige Brown Fremder

  • A Very Belated Update

    A Very Belated Update

It has been a little over a year since I update my website, and life has definitely been full!

-I completed Army BCT in early September 2016, and have been a proud member of The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own"  for over a year! Drew and I were featured as January 2017 "Soldiers in the Spotlight"- so hopefully I will figure out how to include a link to that video here.

-Last you heard, we had just purchased a fixer upper and Drew was hard at work! He is still (as we speak) working on the house, but he has done a wonderful job so far and has only 1/3 of the house left. He has learned a ton, done some incredible work, and will have renovated our entire home by the end of the year. Is he impressive or what?

-Now a few Fremder Flute Studio updates: I am now teaching at the McLean School of Music in McLean, VA! Visit their website at http://www.mcleanmusic.com/ to book lessons through MSOM. I will also no longer be traveling to student campuses to teach. Life is very full and exciting, and private lessons will now be taking place only at my home in Burke, VA or at the MSOM.

-Finally, our most exciting news for last, Drew and I are expecting our first child in early December! We are thrilled and blessed and cannot wait to introduce baby girl Fremder to the world.
